Head of the Safety Department, Staff of the Royal Netherlands Army Command

Colonel Renzo Versteeg is Head of the Safety Department within the staff of the Royal Netherlands Army Command, based at Kromhout Barracks in Utrecht. He is currently responsible for advising commanders within the Royal Netherlands Army on both physical and social safety.
His professional background includes 15 years with the Corps of Engineers, 12 years with the Military Psychological and Sociological Service, and two years with the Dutch Safety Board. He also holds Master’s degrees in Social and Organisational Psychology from Leiden University and in Human Factors and System Safety from Lund University in Sweden.
He has also been deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
